Well, here for the past few days, I had lost the drive of playing my guitar. But suddenly, tonight, when I played for the first time in around three days, it all came back to me! I was playing amazingly, everything I tired came out right, and it was just a BLAST!
That being said, I realized how much playing my guitar has changed my life. Before my guitar, I don't know how I got through the day without it... My guitar is basically my life now... All I ever do anymore is just play my guitar...
Well, that being said, does anyone else feel this way?
Any thoughts you have are welcome!

Guitar is simultaneously a treasured pastime, spiritual connetion, fun study and social subject, occasional acuisition-obsession...

...an important component a wide life, but not the focus thereof.

Enjoy.

I've had days like that where you just can't seem to find the drive to play guitar. It usually goes away in a day or two and it feels right again.

I'm sure there's other old guys here who can tell ya that sometimes you just have to put the guitar down for a day or so to come back fresh. Many times over the years I've hit a wall, couldn't play for crap. Put the guitar down for a few days and I'm back in the game baby!

I used to have the same thing happen when I played golf a lot. I would take a break for two or three days and come back to shoot a way lower score. I think sometimes you subconsciously get into bad habits that you can break just by taking a breather.

Totally agreed on the impact of music in my life. Playing music requires you to use both sides of your brain at the same time ("left" for moving the right fingers at the right time, "right" for making it sound good). It's been shown that playing music builds both mathematical and verbal thinking ability, keeps your brain sharp with aging, and generally makes you more attractive to members of the opposite sex (well, that last one isn't exactly science).

If you bring your guitar to life, it will bring art to your life.

Oh ja, there are often some days I don't have drive to play.
That can be, when I learn a new song, a difficult part wich won't in my head and fingers after many tries in a evening. After 1 or 2 days I start the difficult part again and it works better.

Cheers :D

I dont think I ever lose the drive to play, but I do have some days that I think the tone coming out is just not very good. I tell myself its probably the amp, but its probably me.
