I'm really disappointed in this news. Their first (and only) album was amazing. It was back-to-roots, in your face rock n roll. Very Zeppelin and Sabbath sounding. It was refreshing to hear in a group of bands that all sounded very commercial. They weren't the most technical, but their songs were all catchy. I was waiting for a new album too, but now they're split.

Anyone else around here a wolfmother fan?

Check them out. Nice simple, rocking guitar riffs. They even throw in some organ solos and such.

edit: well, the songs on their myspace aren't full length. If you like what you hear, go to youtube and get the full version and also check out songs like "love train" and "where eagles have been."

Most people only know them through their Guitar Hero 2 track "Woman", but I think that's actually one of their weaker tracks. The album version is amazing with a 1:30 organ solo, but the one in the game and single version lack that.
