Had the pleasure of meeting him once
I was working in Stockport (a manchester UK suburb) and asked the guy I was working for if there were any music shops nearby . he drew me a map so off I drove and found a small music shop
I went inside and asked for some strings, the guy serving looked really familiar so I told him he looked familiar , he said "Hollies" then the penny dropped
I asked him about the Fender VII he used to use and he asked if I wanted a coffee
We sat on 2 high stools chatting away for around an hour , this was not long after he'd left the Hollies (whose roadie used to live about 200 yards away from where I lived )

RIP Eric

That's pretty cool that you were able to do that. He was one of the bassists known for using a Bass VI, I think. Jet Harris, and Jack Bruce used one, too. Sadly, they're both gone, as well.

Still have that Hollies cassette that got plenty of play time on the road. Great music and great recordings. I always thought the Hollies borrowed name from Buddy Holly was a cool touch.

Sounds like you had a fun day with Eric, Ted. Nice.

Thanks for the notification, Paul.

The music lives on, Eric. Thanks!
