Heya, Clearwater...I'm Akron born-and raised, living in PA, but still bleed orange-and-brown. Looking forward to watching the Borwns-Jets preseason game tonight (thank goodness for friends with DirectTV!), but I imagine since it's the New York station, it'll be all Bret talk for most of the game.

And this is going to be our year! Believe it!

Thank God you didn't convert to that Pennsylvania team that shall remain nameless. :)

 I'm on the other side of the state, but there does seem to be more fans of the black-and-gold than the green-and-white around here. Enough to make it interesting at the sports bars, anyway.

I think Farve's a little emotionally immature. I don't blame Green Bay at all for the recent drama. What organization in any type of business would put up with "I retire", "No, I don't", "I retire", "No I don't"? You retire, your company hires a replacement and that's that. So is Brett gonna play arena football next year?

Did you hear Favre in today's Jets Press Conference?
He admitted acting vindictive in all of this.
He's got issues.

He'll just end up losing in the playoffs and then will say he's retiring, just like he seems to have done the past few seasons, and why Green Bay just didn't feel like dealing with him anymore...

You are predicting that Favre will lead the Jets to the playoffs this year?

No, I'm just saying if they end up losing in the playoffs, he'll say he's retiring in the post-game press conference, then a few months later he'll decide that he doesn't want to be retired....

I wonder if all those Madden '09 games and displays with Favre in a GB uniform will become collectible now....

Why the Jets would want him at this stage of his career is beyond me.

Because at this stage of his career he's still a better performer than Chad Pennington. Other than '05 and '06 season, the Pack always had a winning season. Granted it didn't go further than Divisional games.

As a Jets fan, it really does not matter. They're going to suck even more than last year.

Farve is a joke. He's doing a great job of ruining his legacy and pissing off his fans. :?

They're still going to release the game, but they'll have a print-out cover on their site to slide in the game case if you don't like the one they have now. They'll also put out an update which puts Favre on the Jets.

As for the whole comeback situation, I don't care what his reputation was, I think it was a bit childish to expect to just simply waltz back in and be the starter. He retired. The Packers moved on. He shouldn't just expect to be a starter, no matter what the reputation he had.

All the Jets fans are thinking that he's going to bring them to the Super Bowl this year.Guess again.New England will still win the AFC east and quite possibly go back to the Super Bowl, and when the season's done,Farve will pull his prima donna BS again just like he did in GB. This isn't the 1st time he's done this.

EXACTLY! It seems like for the last 3 or more seasons, when the Packers haven't made it to the playoffs or lose in the playoffs, Favre comes out and announces his retirement at the post game news conference, then a few months later when all the pain killers and concussions wear off, he then decides he wants to come back. The Jets may be able to get a season or 2 out of Favre, but then this still leaves them without a decent quarterback in the end, and thats something the Jets haven't had since Joe Namath...
