Hey Everybody,

I thought it would be fun to have a thread where everyone can post their favorite guitar album. Then we can all make a run on our local libraries and maybe find some great music we haven't heard before. This can be any genre, vocals or no vocals, just as long as you like the guitar playing. Mine is:

Derek and the Dominoes - Layla and Assorted Love Songs
(Eric Clapton + Duane Allman + Unrequited Love = Magic)

I like so many types of music.....and I have so many albums.....I don't think I could have a favorite. I like so many of them. Hard to pick one out.

I want to hear different types of music on different days (depending on my mood).

The ones I named aren't my absolute favorites either, but they do have one of my favorite guitar players in them.

I agree, there's no shortage of good guitar music.

Check out some Jimmy Bryant, Mike Bloomfield, Eric Gales, Duke Robillard...so many good ones.

I have favorite guitar player too, and I can't single one out. Mainly because they all have their own styles, and I like all the the styles too. So......I just play then all and enjoy them just the same.

Heck.....I even like Andreas Vollenweider (I think that how it's spelled), and he plays new age electric harp.

Oh yeah.....I once heard a rock band, at a local club. They had an electric harp (not a harmonica) player, and WOW, did that ever had a cool sound to the band. It sure helped that he was a fantastic player.

Ok, how about "Derek and the Dominos" -"The Layla Sessions", the 20th Annivrsary box set? Disc one, just the original disc. Disc two, nothin but five different long jams (no vocals)! On the fourth jam Duane brings in some of his buddies which turns out to be Eric Clapton jamming with the whole Allman Bros. Band, doing a funky version of "Southbound". Some very interesting jam sessions there! Disc three, alternate masters, jams, and outtakes. Two different versions of "Have You Ever Loved A Woman', two of "Tell The Truth", and other songs that never made it on the album. An excellent guitar album!
