Being on UG's Modern Rock forum every once in a while, I saw they had a thread where users had a weekly "radio station" to expose everyone to their tastes. It's not so much radio as a playlist, but that's beside the point.

It's really easy to do. You use a site called muxtape ( http://muxtape.com ) You create an account (which takes less than a minute with confirmation. Then, you upload songs (I'm not sure what the limit is, but you can do whatever you want here. I'm thinking something along the lines of 10-15 diverse songs to show what you listen to would be a reasonable number. If the music is already on your computer, you're set.

The second option, if you don't have any music uploaded to your computer, would be to use www.projectplaylist.com and create a playlist. There, you can search their database from around the web to find the songs you want added.

I think this will be great in getting to know some new music you've never heard before and get to know everyone else's musical style as a sort of "look into their mind."

One person posts their radio in the designated week as "username's Radio", and when the next person rolls around, they make a new thread.

So here's the sign up I suppose. Just post when you want, and I'll put your name on the list.

Week of

September 8: citizenerased
September 15:
September 23: nrt4
September 29:
October 6:
October 13:

That should be enough for now to gauge what kind of response I get and see if people are willing to do this.

Anyone? Creating either one doesn't take very long. Looking back, if you can find all the songs on ProjectPlaylist, that may be easier, but both are extremely simple. I think it would be nice to get everyone listening to stuff they're not used to and broadening their horizons.

Well, I had August before as dates, but I thought this was going to die, so I'll extend it to start in September because I didn't make my playlist either. Anyone else interested at all?
