Well, you have two choices then:

Learn to play right handed (the normal way)

or

Flip a righty and play like Hendrix (like that thought has never crossed your mind)

Since I now own a VG Strat - it was easy

Even if I didn't own the VG, I would choose the VG. :D

I like tuning the guitar - it allows me to get to know the instrument better - in the case of the VG, the extra tunings it can do are just a nice topping on a very nice guitar.

The Robot looks nice - but very, very expensive, plus it is not the fastest thing in the world - you could never really use that on stage (not that I play out - but I'm thinking of everyone here). The VG allows very fast (and even it gets complaints - but not from me) for not being as fast as it could be when switching tunings.

I'm still getting used to my new guitar - the best part of the VG to me so far is that is a very well made Strat - especially the neck.

Just my 2 cents from rain soaked Vermont

The first choice ain't gonna happen. The second choice is how I started out playing guitar and ain't gonna happen again. LOL

They are both neat guitars, I'll say that.

I think they're both cool, but are not necessarily competing for the same customers.

In the same set of guitars I'd include the Variax guitar, and the Roland VG99 external guiltar modeling tool.

These are very cool and greatly expand the range of guitar sounds a person can get. My personal fave is the Variax because its variety and simplicity for home use. If I were a gigging musician I'd probably prefer the VG Strat or the Robot.

The advantage of the Robot is that it lets you switch to alternate tunings quckly, so it's a lot more than just a helper for keeping the guitar in tune.

Neither. Now, an Eric Johnson, a Beck, a FMT HSS deluxe, an upgraded Les Paul standard . . . yes . . .

Neither one for me no fan of th VG but if I was stuck in a room and told to pick one and go home with it free of charge I would pick the purple Robot.
Now if you throw a Fender Time Machine Series Strat. like a 66 closet classic green metalic in there that would be my choice.

Thanks for your thoughts guys- i think the same about these gtrs.

The VG seems more useful. I don't need a self tuning guitar. i'll do that.

A strat is s-s-s, alder/ash body, alnico pickups, 3 knobs, and that's about it.

I'm a vintage guy, like a vintage sound, so it's the same story with lp's and sg's.

Rock on and thanks for making me feel at home here:D

I think I'll wait until the technology becomesmore advanced, but if I had to choose today it would be the VG. Much more versatile. The robot can tune your guitar, but it can't turn 6 strings into 12.

I do agree with a previous poster who said that these two guitars probably aren't competing for the same buyers.

I wouldn't spend that much on any one guitar. I would split it up on at least two guitars such as the Koa telecaster and a Players Deluxe strat.
