I never cared for them either, although I do see their talent. Seems like it was all down hill after Roxanne.

Hello Guitarlegend1218,

I still listen to them occasionally.
Many good times come to mind.

Cheers.

I'm a huge fan. Never cared much for Sting's solo efforts, though.

Excellent band.
One great drummer and one great extremely underrated guitar player.
One of my all time fav guitar players, and indeed bands

Used to cover a couple of Police numbers way back in the day. Very effective.

Caught them twice on this recent reunion tour. Sting never gives less than a pro show, and it was all most efficient. Glad to have finally seen them live, cos I suspect that story is now concluded; rightfully so.

Time to move on - but leave that damn lute alone, Sting! There's a thousand people out there can do that stuff far, far better!

Cheers - C

I saw that too. It looked like everyone was having a great time. Did you see the concentration on Stewart Copeland's face? Man, it looked like completely tuned out of everything but that song. Andy Summers looked like he was having a blast! I would have loved to been there.

I saw them on the Synchronicity tour and they were fantastic! One of my favorite bands!

Yes, I did notice Stewie's concentration and I agree with Andy looking like he was really having a great time.

In his voiceover on that Everyone Stares DVD Stewart Copeland comments on his own facial expression; "getting paid gazillions for doing what you love - hey, crack a smile, dude!"

During one of the recent shows I saw, Andy got up on the drum riser and on the final note of the number took a little rock-and-roll leap down onto the stage. Which produced a look on his face like that really did not agree with his knee joints - he didn't try that one again during the rest of the show!

Still: looking good for his age...

- C

i saw an interview with andy summers years ago. in his younger days he played in a wedding band. when he hooked the job w/ the animals(?), robert fripp took his place in the wedding band... go figure.

as far as the police go, 3 very talented musicians. i think they played it smart, i. e., make the money first, buy some nice equipment, then consentrate on making real music and who cares if it sells.

i wish i knew what i did with my "bewitched" album...
