Went to the BB King concert the other night and it was great to say the least. He may be 82, but he still puts on a show. He covered a few of his older tunes, and had a few I hadnt heard before. He would also stop during some of his songs to tell a story, This made the experience even more thrilling. At random points of the show, he would toss the pick he was playing with out to the crowd.
I was well in the back, and he would have to have an arm like a major league pitcher to bean me in the side of the head with one! At the end of the show he tossed out what looked like some jewlery, and a lot of picks.
A helluva birthday for me! Got a shirt and a cool sticker for my guitar case, and a memory I will not forget! If anyone who likes Blues, and gets a chance, go see him. You will enjoy 8)

I last saw him at The Irridium Jazz Club in NYC sittin' in with Les and his trio. What a cool surprise and they both sounded very good. 8)

Those mature players are idols. Huge, massive sources awe, due much respect, admiration.

One need NOT "a**-out" in a recliner and the idiot-box for one's evening years, rather, look to them for example.

Also, Les Paul and Andres Segovia.

Sounds like a great birthday gift. You got a little music, a little history and a fantastic memory of BB King to share with others.
