I keep getting email notices that I have a PM message from other forum members.

Different ones each time.. the PM is nothing but nonsense and garbage..

Read to the bottom of each message.
You may find it was a Christmas greeting sent in bulk to multiple board members.
The problem with bulk messages is that there does not seem to be an option to respond only to the sender so anyone who responds replies to all recipients of the original PM.

On those messages; I have a "reply" button (next to the "quote" button, right side, directly under the message) and a "reply to sender and all recipients" (further down on the left, next to the "print view" button). I've always thought the plain reply answers only to the sender, and at least so far nobody has mentioned otherwise... :?

Normally I do see that reply button down on the right, next to the quote button but on this bulk message it does not seem to be there.
Over on the left side, in small red text, is the reply to all link ... but it's a link, not a button.
That's why I have not replied.

I have another problem that occurred too, however.

As seen on my Apple mobile phones:

The mass mailed messages will not show in their entirety as the right hand side of the text is chopped off with no way to reduce or move it for the whole message to show.

It only happens with this mass mailing at this time. AFAIK. Single messages are not cut off.

The PC version checks out to work tiddley boo.

I first did the read on an iPhone X which, like all the Xs that I and others earlier tested side by side with Apple, also has, since purchased and without and with updates a few times to current standing, always crashes/blanks out/loses the Forum message or posts or video links in that landscape mode when tilted from portrait to landscape. Difficult and frustrating, especially typing a reply that disappears if slightly tilted thus needing a complete redo. Totally useless, and no help here. With the X videos linked or text written or read in portrait mode it just doesn’t get a landscape option so far only with the Forum (after 5 months) with the iPhone X. :?
Until now the iPhone 5s could be used as designed with either portrait or landscape showing the post/message/videos as planned. It still does work . . . except for this present mass mailed cutoff in portrait and landscape for the message in question. I’ve had no mass mailed messages here before this to compare, however.

Briefly, both my new and old phones cut off the mass mailed message, and yes all recipients’ replies are sent to me. No worries here for that, however. Friends and family haven’t caught on to CC: or BCC: so my email address goes around the world without permission, and so do their personal emails’ replies end up in my in box to be removed manually in several computers. They are not all from the same family of hardware/software, etc. I’ve given up on the thought of giving email lessons having belief that their light bulb will remain off. I get the heebie jeebies when I think of encoding and decoding possibilities that exist(ed) as a pipe dream. 5 personal replies x 2 not meant for me regarding Christmas dinner invites arrived yesterday. No delinquent Polish or Aussie correspondence or newsletters from far away organizations that aren’t related to me this time.

Gone are the days when the family got one Christmas card from Hong Kong. At least we could read that!
YMMV

I think SBLS originally sent it (per times sent) so I just replied to him :

But Merry Christmas and Best wishes for a Happy New Year to all.

He pulled this same obnoxious crap last year then apologized and promised never to do it again.

I guess we know what his word is good for.

Yeah, I had to shut off the option to receive notifications, otherwise I'd get constant emails from anytime someone responds to the first PM. That's why I didn't respond, because I didn't want to do that to anyone else. I wish there was an option to opt out of receiving messages that are addressed to other people. Either that, or just make a thread on the forum for everyone, or just PM people individually that you want to send a message to.
