Listening to SiriusXM today, with the jock giving preference to The Zombies and playing a follow up “Time Of The Season” from one of Rock’s biggest albums of that decade (Odyssey and Oracle - 1968), this current list was announced:

https://www.rockhall.com/fanvote/standings

Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks (without her awarded Fleetwood Mac association), Todd Rundgren, and The Cure have all earned their stripes and are faves of mine as well as others; but, the first three are first time nominated, The Cure twice nominated, and The Zombies have their fourth nomination this time around. A win for The Zombies is getting harder with age; therefore, I and others wish them luck with no disrespect for others nominated or not considered; although, we all know how the game is played for those who, perhaps, are equal, token or less deserving.

I am not the biggest fan of the Zombies, but I absolutely love the band Argent. Personally, I think Rod Argent should be in the HoF based on his long prolific career if the Zombies don't make it.

I’ll second that. Thanks, for the post. :D

Sometimes, I think there should be three categories to fill this position. Best musically, best show band or artist, and finally a combo for best of both. Whoo boy! Would that stir up the pot. That would change the recipe. :P

Why weren't these bands/performers ever voted in?

Bad Company
Boston
Joe Cocker
Dick Dale
Doobie Brothers
Foreigner
Frampton
J Geils Band
Grand Funk
The Guess Who
The Grassroots
Humble Pie
Jethro Tull
Little Feat
Mountain
Steppenwolf
Ten Years After
Thin Lizzy
Link Wray
Johnny Winter

I stopped paying attention a long time ago, when bands I didn’t really deem worthy started getting in.

Sorry, rant over...

Have to agree with Mike, I'm not a fan of the RRHoF.

Can’t accept that apology, Mike.

These guys could easily have a museum of their own except for being added to a few other Hall of Fames, perhaps that aren’t their genre, if ya get my drift.

Because there wouldn't be any room for the true Rock & Roll Gods and Goddess such as Janet Jackson and L.L. Cool J
I completely agree...RRHoF stinks.

Blame the system that influences the Grammys, Emmys, and Oscars. There is a connection. NBSee? and it’s parent company connections.

Uuum, the way it’s heading the RRHOF will soon be the Pop Hop Hall Of Shame. I vote for Meryl Streep doing ABBA.

Apologies to the real rockers inducted.

Good news ... the Zombies DID make it. So did Stevie Nicks, the Cure, Janet Jackson, Def Leppard, Roxy Music, and Radiohead.

Excellent. Popularity shows that Def Leppard was an obvious winner sooner or later. Imagine Radiohead who shook up the industry with a “pay what you want” and other nose to nose adventures in the industry getting inducted. Cool. 8) There ya go Rod and the Zombies. Way to go mates. You finally made it. :D Congrats to the others.

Thanks, for the post, 01GT eibach

That’s a Fact Jack. I think her best stuff was with Michael (not that she doesn’t have some talent), being that she’s not LaToya, but, wait . . Britney may be sitting in the front row waiting to win best in the dance and singing category. I’d rather see Sheila E up there, at least she has her papa’s musical genes.
FSB

I’d also like to see a specifically dead musicians (known and unknown) rock and blues hall of fame with posthumous awards to those who came before who never got justifiable recognition, perhaps, who got shafted by managers, producers, and distributors, and take time to pay some respect to the families who were a part of their lives and careers.

There’s so much great stuff out there to be discovered and rediscovered, and it would be a shame to see it vanish in the future. Alan Lomax, The Library Of Congress, and PBS set the example. Decision makers would be term positions including historians, musicians, dancers, graphic artists, photograpers, technology oriented and creative audio/video experts, public representation, and alike. The business side would be just that - based on meeting the needs of the decision makers, and not the other way around.

I think we need to take it mainstream before it’s too late. I’ve seen too much text, too many pristine records damaged in thrift stores or homes, audio and video in garbage bins, websites that come and go, format changes, disappearing local museums with trivia going to the highest bidder for personal satisfaction out of public reach, industry and government interference, and so on. A candid photo gallery would be cool too. Where to start isn’t the question. Where to end could be. It would be a great way to see how we got here from there. It could be another tool for today’s and tomorrow’s songwriters and budding musicians. We need to talk and to remember the soul and contributions of the people, and not the sales.
IMHO. That’s called art, and it needs to be recognized and studied, and protected like major and minor artifacts of yesteryear. That’s called culture.

Everybody dances to the beat of a different drummer. Some have rhythm . . . some don’t.

Or Whitney Houston of The Notorious B.I.G.
At least the Doobie Brothers made the nomination this year, although I have no idea which version.
Thin Lizzy too.
