I've recently purchased a Fender PM-2 12 fret acoustic guitar. It's got a solid mahogany top, back, sides, and neck. The headstock, of course, is also solid mahogany.
Does anyone know if the headstock top surface is part of the solid headstock itself, and is the inlay and edge bindings routed into the solid wood, or or is it a veneer applied after, and purely decorative?

Thanks..........Dave

I'd be very surprised if there's a forum member who has actually checked this…
So probably your only option is to contact Fender Consumer Relations (support pages; email or the wonderful chat service there), and since the Paramounts are made by subcontractors in China, maybe even Fender doesn't have the answer.

I'll throw a wild guess, based on the promo pics on the product page. The headstock back & front seem to show a similar woodgrain, so i conclude there's no veneer.

But: why the question? Just curiosity, or do you find a 'veneery' character on the guitar's sound?
