I hope this is the right place to ask a question of the forum administration.

Why does inserting a smiley, force a line break? At least, that is what happens for me and I am on a Mac 10.10.5 using Safari 10.1.2.

Is there a setting somewhere that I can disable that so that the line I am typing just continues to the end of the page, when I put a smiley in there?

For example....... "so there I was, completely inebriated :P and when I went to turn on my amp....."

Thanks.

It's been like that ever since the forum was upgraded a couple of years ago.
There were a ton of bugs that had to get ironed out afterward.
I guess this one was low enough on the priority list that it got missed.
Or maybe you're just the first person to mention it so it never came to Brad's attention.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

With any luck we'll get new forum software with new bugs for Christmas.

Leave it to the "Mac people" to make it about their OS.

This happens on all platforms, PCs, mobile devices, chromebooks, etc etc. It's the forum, not the device you are using to connect. Never seen this on any forum and I've been on quite a few. Maybe if Fender Corp ever gets to be a really big international company they will be able to fix it. But alas they are a small mom & pop without the resources to have a decent quality forum.
