Wanting to get locking tuners for my Kurt Cobain Jaguar. The guitar currently has Gotoh tuners that come stock plus the holes that would've been on it's vintage counterpart for the tuners that originally came on the guitars in '65 are drilled into the guitar even though the tuners that come on the guitar don't use those holes. What options of locking tuners can I get that'll go right in without any extra modifications to my guitar? I prefer modern looking tuners like the ones currently on the guitar as opposed to vintage.

No guarantee that they'll fit, but it looks like the same pattern... $60

For a drop-in upgrade you might consider these......

https://stratosphereparts.com/new-kluso ... 105mn-drl/

Very cool, Arjay. Never saw or heard of those before. I can see where those would find a home. Nice!

Though I don't personally use them myself, I've installed them in several clients' guitars. A no-muss/no-fuss fit requiring only a screwdriver for installation.

Well, that’s pretty skookum bro’. I have the typical Fender locked ones on the Amn Dlx, and so far so good.

I may find their use for another axe in the future though. What’s your thought on the comparison lock wise and ratio wise? Are they comparable, or is it just that these look vintage and fit as you mentioned? TIA

Cheers!

Those are a great option for a lot of guitars.
I was a bit confused by the OP's description... the current KC Jag uses the newer style, but he referenced the vintage holes too, but also Gotoh rather than Kluson (head spinning).
I remember the original "Jag-Stang" from the 90s... it used the vintage type tuners.

I need to keep those in mind if I ever buy or build something that uses that style.

AFAIK they'll fit just about any guitar with a 6IL configuration -- Gibson Firebird (non-reverse), Epiphone Wilshire, etc.
