Folks,

I will be heading to Ohio next weekend for a family reunion and 90th Birthday Party for my wife's grandmother. While there, we are planning a day trip to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Anyone been there already and want to share thoughts about it and what we should look for that might be of better interest than other areas of the museum?

[quote="Barry Pullis"]Folks,

If you haven't been to Seattle and the EMP, put that on your "Bucket List' as well.

Doc

That's a long haul from the Merrick Parkway.

I was there on June 6. If you're anything like me, you could spend at least five hours there.

Definitely look at the Les Paul mini-exhibit. It's in the "Founders of Rock" section, and shows the evolution of the Les Paul, from "The Log" and "The Rail" to what I believe is a Les Paul heavily modified by the man himself. It was like a Les Paul Recording Guitar, but with a few more switches.

The top floor is dedicated to The Doors (at least it was two months ago), and it's pretty cool. The floor below that is a look at "Help!" (the movie). The videos they're showing are just the behind-the-scenes from the DVD released earlier this year... but when you walk into the room, and turn right, you're presented with John Lennon's Gibson J-160E. I spent ten minute staring at that alone.

It's hard to see everything. I never did go through the basement part, which I believe is actually the hall of fame. I was with a group, and we had three hours to go to the Rock Hall and the museum next door. I only spent twenty minutes in the museum.

In the gift shop, there's a display case of "articfacts" being sold by another company. It's mostly fan club-style stuff, from the fifties or sixties. They were selling three pieces of Paul McCartney's hair for $500. They had George, too.

There's "Merrick" a town in Nassau County, NY...on "Lawngiland"...and there's The Merritt "Pawkway" which will lead you into Conn, and ultimately Mass, RI and beyond.

However, it is NOT a long haul from Bellevue, WA. where I find myself at least 2-3 times annually. Denney Way, here I come.

Interesting. You'll be thrilled to know that there are now other people living there. Lots of other people!!

There are also paved roads!

They weren't all paved in '66. Selden was a backwater. Other people live there now? Who'd have thunk it being only an hour or so from NYC?

Economics drove people out east with respect to housing costs. The situation has turned around though. Young adults, born and raised there, now cannot afford to live there. They are leaving the Island for other parts of the country.

More later.

Ringo?

All he's got to do is act naturally.

Then he's in for sure.
