27* F - it ain't the cold, it's the windchill.

3°C / 37°F with humidity at 80%. There's still a lot of frost and ice around even though it's above freezing. It's going to be a cold one again tonight.

Currently 27* F with 13" of snow on the ground. It's still snowing lightly but
forecast is for another 8-10" of snow overnight.

BUT....temps about 40* F for Thurs/Frid/Sat.

Looks like you’re getting hammered like those in our eastern provinces, and with others in many of the states south of us, Mike.

I don’t know how we missed the recent Colorado winter impact that surrounds us. Usually our weather mimics what you are having. 10” to 20” snowfall is no stranger to us. Average snowfalls are commonly 5”’ - 10”. While it is true that we don’t have the population to deal with we do have a lot more area to cover, and some of it is very remote and/or less travelled needing the same attention and, sometimes, more. We have snow clearing equipment up the ying yang, and the management is, for the most part, excellent; although, sub-contracting brings it’s own concerns. Clearing isn’t a problem, dumping is. High snow piles on the boulevards and blocking personal property requires more individual effort. This stuff used to be hauled away when the city did the clearing.

There seems to be a variety on how snow struck areas and individuals handle the situation. All too often budgeting, equipment, and managing falls short or is poorly cannibalized. Pretty hard to second guess the weather these days, and even here we got a triple whammy in past years that strained the budget and reduced the snow clearing by not clearing as wide or as deep or as often; but, when things are par for the course we have really good snow clearing, and this helps when things get turned upside down. Even at the worst, it’s pretty darn good and timely.

For the uninitiated or for those struggling I highly recommend those big scoops that you push. Easier, faster, and safer with less chance of injury for everyone. The best thing you can do to make it easy, is to clear the snow often and early. Don’t give it a chance to pile up if that’s possible. You’ll be glad you did get a head start. :D

High 31°F / Low 25 ° Humidity 75%
Pretty nice in this tundra.

Compare that with 0° and - 11° predicted for one week from today.
