Snow showers

So far we are expecting snow only for one day over a week and a half. Probably the calm before the storm, but we’ll take it. :D

I see that some of you are getting beat up with some ugly weather, rain, snow, ice, wind, and what have you. Transportation has been compromised. In many cases. I hope you have managed okay, especially for those with Thanksgiving plans in the U.S.

Our weather is getting much colder. Gloves and toques are everywhere. Toques were selling for $2.00 at the grocery register to support charity, and Paul, someone thought our idea was a good one.

I’m thinking we should build some wireless speakers into the next model.

40 today but the wind was brutal, 60+ mph, stayed inside would have gotten blown over but got the leaves off the trees so can clean those gutters for the last time before winter.

Gotta love those late leaf cleanups, Rollie. I hear ya brother.

I jury rigged a pole with a hook to pull those pesky gutter clutters out. Either the hose is put away before freezing or the snow is on the doorsteps before all the trees drop their foliage for the winter. I’ll also use a leaf blower. Most of the gutter protectors made to keep the leaves out are laughable; but, there are some good ones as neighbours will attest to.

Funny how drastic alternatives can include cutting down perfectly good trees. That’s too bad. Decades to fully grow a tree, and only minutes or hours to cut it down. I have a 40 foot evergreen and a 2 foot Blue Spruce. Hahaha. Easy answer, right? Nope! Occasionally, and seasonally, cones can blow debris into the gutters. But, since I cut down a Birch tree 2 years ago, boulevard and neighbourhood trees are the major contributors. We get those copters winding their way onto the roof, and into the gutters as well. Still, I’m a tree hugger.

Keep it safe SBLS.

The frost hasn't cleared off the grass all day where it's been in the shadow. It's supposedly 4°C / 39°F 77% humidity so I don't know why the frost hasn't cleared. It's been clear skies and sunny here all day, but be careful of those icy patches on the pavement.
