It’s a quarter past midnight and it’s 24º (yes, celsius) here. I like that.

We talked to one of the National Grid workers that was down our street, and it looks like a strong possibility that we could have the gas restored within the next day or two. We drove around and spotted many of them working around the city, so they're really on top of things. Fortunately, it's not as cold as it was last night (it's 18 degrees right now with calm winds, if you want to call that warmer,) and tomorrow is supposed to have a high temp of 45 degrees, which is a nice break.

It's 43 degrees with a windchill of 37 degrees. We still don't have the gas turn back on, but I think it's on the way, hopefully by tomorrow, or the next day.

35 degrees, with a wind chill of 25 degrees. Cold, but not like it was at the beginning of the week. Still no gas, which means it's been 6 days since we've had heat or hot water. It does look like they finally got all of the gas valves shut down for all of the house, so now it's the process of turning everything on back again. They were down my street checking to see if there is any water in the gas lines, since we had some heavy rain last night. It's seeming to look like we might get our gas back on either tomorrow, or Saturday, though. At least we still have electricity, which I'm thankful for. That would be a hell of a lot worse.

Still cold here in Didim Turkey, although it is steadily getting warmer
We are in rainy season at the moment ......rain every day
The upside is, come end of April we get endless sunshine usually until November

Hang in there, Paul. That’s a little rough, and I hope you’ll soon be back to normal.

We had a furnace shut down a few years ago and it was on one of the coldest winter days. It never seems to happen on the hottest, which isn’t exactly beneficial either. That was because of an electrical outage. There was no way to get heat or hot water so I know how it is. Good vibes heading your way.

Thanks, I imagine that would have to be really rough there, since your winters are typically a lot harsher than we get, and a lot longer, too. The one thing thing that I realize, since I've also lived in Florida, which can get extremely hot and humid, it's certainly a lot easier to cool off than it is to warm up. You could always get into a cool shower, or whatever. Been there, and done that. If there is a hell, it's not a hot place, but freezing cold, I imagine. :P At least we haven't gotten any blizzards yet, knock on wood. Barely any snow, come to think of it, which is fine with me. Last year, we already had a blizzard in the beginning of January, but we didn't lose power or gas. We just had to do a lot of shoveling.

I’ve pretty much become climatized if that’s even possible. Being cold for me was working outdoors wet in cold ocean spray on a cold ocean, working outdoors with a camera crew in below zero weather; but, the worst was when I was around 20 my car broke down, and I had to walk about 5 miles freezing on a winter night in a suit with no warm coat, gloves, or boots because the only nearby gas station was shut down, and no phone was available. I made it to my girlfriend’s (now wife’s) home where her Mom and Grandma gave me a sandwich hug to prevent this then ill prepared west coaster from getting hypothermia. A few days later they all bought me a coat! I guess I had to become a member of the family after that. :P

Kids today don’t realize what it was like before cellphones, Broken down outboards in the middle of a remote lake is fun too, especially if it’s raining and you have to bail.

25 degrees right now. They're finally starting the process of getting the gas turned on, so hopefully it will be today.

Here’s a thought, Paul. Head off to the music store. I always get GAS right away.
