About 20 years ago I had a back-yard neighbour I barely knew until we decide the fence needed to be rebuilt and then we spent each evening together for a couple of weeks after work until the job was done. It turned out he was an engineer who worked in China for a shipyard company. His rotation was 2 months there, 2 months home. The stories he told me of China literally blew my mind. Usually when I visit another country I'm mostly struck by little differences but this guy left me with the distinct impression China was like a whole different universe.

I'm a little jealous, actually, Mud. I'd be fascinated to see China.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
