This is a great museum located (4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85050) I have been there multiple time and never disappointed. I have not been there for a few years, as my dad moved to my brothers house, he's getting on in age (95 3/4). His condo is still there and my nephew is staying there while he is at ASU. I did sign up for the news letter while I was there. If any one is in the area I do suggest making it a stop. If I were going I would like to see their newest exhibit called; The Electric Guitar: Inventing an American Icon, this one looks like it will be killer. Here is a link for the museumhttps://mim.org/galleries/special-exhibitions/the-electric-guitar-inventing-an-american-icon/
Here is the promo video they sent to me

FYI I do not own, or work, or have investment in the museum, I just think it is worth going to

I live in the extended area and have to make a point of visiting the museum. Thanks for the post, mud. Sounds like it would be great day trip.

Sounds interesting. If I could ever make my way out west, that would be something to check out. 8)

Thanks for the tip.
We go through Phoenix a couple of times a year visiting my parents in Texas... will have to plan a stop into one of the trips.

Very cool museum. Gotta love those that support the history and protection of music.

Amongst the many museums, some are of great interest while others are geared for a specific audience. Music is more or less part of our DNA and so a big applause for the MIM is in order. Thanks, for bringing it to our attention and for the link. Mud.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

That’s pretty wild. Not exactly a replacement for a rhythm and/or bass player and/or drums; but, if the playback could accompany you that might be an interesting practice concept. Nowadays, a USB playback would do the trick.

Good find. Thanks, for the post, Matt.

How’s the Chinese food over there, Mud? Stay safe and have a great time.

When I was a kid, Mud, my father did a lot of trips to China. Needless to say. my kid brother and I got a real Chinese food lesson each time he returned. He taught us to pick up dimes with chopsticks, and we used to laugh when he showed us how to beat and eat soup with those matchsticks. I’m still not sure if he was putting us on. I mean how could you trust a guy who would give you chocolate covered honey bees and ants from Japan without warning? Don’t get burnt with those Hot Pots. I bet they’re good though,

As for the Tele, you mean to say it wouldn’r pass the Opry test?

Take care,
FSB
