We have an international community, where do you have breakfast if you're not having it at home? Here in the states, we have the usual suspects, but I'm interested where folks who don't live in the States, like to have breakfast. Even if it's just coffee.

Thanks, Vinyl

What prompted this question mostly has to do with why Dunkin' Donuts has decided to drop donuts from their name.
For me, a waffle house breakfast is hard to beat, but I certainly recognize that I live in limited locations, and I'd like to know what's available in other locations, even if they're in other parts of the world.
All the best,
Vinyl

Never Tim Horton.
I dislike their cold, odd tasting coffee and their breakfast food is always loaded with too much salt.
So much I can barely get it down.
Some people who put salt on everything don't care.
I am not one of them.

If I'm in a hurry .... A&W
English muffin sausage & egger combo

If I have the time to sit and read the paper it'll be the usual suspects.
Smitty's, Denny's and the like.

If I am already in Edmonchuck it's Barb n' Ernie's on 99th St.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Just 7-11 for my coffee. I feel bad for people who don't have these close by. They're everywhere in Long Island.

I don't often do real breakfast but when I take a weekend trip I love to go to
Johnson's Restaurant in Sister Bay WI

Crepes with lingenberries, sausage, and eggs. Beautiful scenery in the warmer months looking out at the marina. if you have kids they will love seeing the goats up on the roof.

Probably something from Cumberland Farms (sandwich and coffee,) or maybe McDonald's (same thing.) It depends on what's going on, if I'm on the road going somewhere, or up in the early morning, and am able to go for a walk at that time. The last time I've been in an actual restaurant for a breakfast was back in 2011, when I visited my parents in Florida for a couple of weeks, and they'd like to go out for that. I'm usually not on that kind of schedule where I can do that sort of thing, since I'm up nights.

When I lived in D.C. in the 70's I used to catch the weekly show at the Red Fox Inn by the Seldom Scene in Bethesda.
They were the band that inspired me to become interested in the likes of Lowell George, Doc and Merle Watson, Jerry "Flux" Douglas, Tony Rice, and other Bluegrass musicians, but also Roy Buchanan.
Afterwards, we would head the half a block walk to the Tastee Diner for breakfast. On one such occasion, seated in the booth next to us was Emmy Lou Harris. The breakfast was always excellent and sometimes the scenery was great also. There was no better place to have breakfast.

Nowadays, it's pretty much just Steak and Eggs at a Waffle house near where I live.

I think Dunkin' Donuts trying to remake themselves into another Starbucks is lame They have coffee that I like, but I don't eat there.

If not at home, an Original Pancake House.

Well, yumpin’ yiminy! So do we, Glenn. I was writing this just as you chimed in.

My mom sends us Tim Hortons gift cards. It’s sort of a memory thing with my dad from when he used to like to go there (when it was the original company). So rather than upset the doughnut cart, we collect the cards until there’s some good reason to use them. The store that got it’s birth the same place as I did changed hands to the point where Timmie’s is not even a shadow of of it’s former self. Wendy’s even had a go at it, and now Burger King. What’s next? Bubba’s Bubble Tea Kitchen?

So instead of frozen doughnuts thawed we go to the Original Pancake House where they have baked cinnamon loaded Giant German Apple Pancakes that droop over the plate. I’m on a weight loss program at the moment; but, having eaten it since I was 19, it’s on my breakfast bucket list and 6 blocks away. Good thing it’s not 3 blocks away.

We used to go to Tim Horton's at a local one not far from our place. Then we moved out of the area. I like getting the Diced Ham, and Eggs, with Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and the side of Home Fry Potatoes that comes with it. A glass of unsweetened Ice-Tea. It's not too bad.

Certainly works for me. When I don’t have the Giant German, I’ll have the loggers special (although, they don’t list it as such). Pancake, butter, egg, syrup, and repeat. You can add Canadian bacon between the layers if you want it to be complete and correct, and three layers of each is typical; but, for simplicity at the restaurant I’ll have bacon or sausage with hash browns and/or toast to the side. I request basted eggs to test the cook.
Ice tea is always in the home cupboard. :D
Up here Timmie’s is everywhere. I live between two of them. One a block away in a mall, and another full size 3 blocks away. There’s more Tim Horton’s than gas stations or Golden Arches. I particularly like Safeway donuts especially when they’re fresh. :P YMMV.

My bucket’s getting heavy.

You know you've mad a mistake, when you go to Ireland, and order Ice Tea. I asked for an Ice tea to go with one of my first meals there. The server looked at me like they had no clue to what that was. Soooo,................

Mr. A's on Central for omlettes, ham n cheese or bacon and cheese or western style or eggs with a giant ham steak they all come with potatoes and toast or pancakes your choice I always go for Greek toast buttered for me. They have a full breakfast/lunch menu but only open to 3pm. Sometimes L&L on Busse and rarely Omega on Golf Rd. In Chicago the Hollywood Grill at Ashland and North Ave. 24 hours of good food for the price. You guys are making me hungry.
