Maybe Fender should consider moving the rest of the operation from California, especially the Custom Shop.

Fender has already emergency plans, however I don't think they're going to relocate their operation at Scottsdale soon.

Wait’ll California discovers that electric cars are an alternative to fossil fuel driven vehicles. Unlike some other solutions (air and hydrogen for example) electricity is an alternative, but the production and/or distribution of it is factually not environmental whether it is supported by dams, plastic solar panels, tidal power, nuclear energy or the mining community for materials needed. As for wind power, there are problems that have been under scrutiny for some time (durability, cost over time, questionable specs or ratings based on location and other uniqueness, and wind changes as an example). There are whole towns that can attest to that. Add battery recycling, should it be less than appropriate, and now some of those Fender concerns will be moot.

I think electric cars are a hot ticket item. I wish they were environmental as promoted. There is at least one major automotive manufacturer that calls their electric vehicles alternative rather than environmental. Hot cars - He** yeah! Cool? Not so much.

FSB

Note: I certainly use electricity as others do. In fact I probably use too much. It certainly helps to play the Fender Strat through the Fender amp. One thing I do not do, however, is buy the promoted bunk (I guess I produced too many commercials). Aside from having a huge Hydro head office and an electrical museum at the end of the street here’s why:

I was born 41 miles from Niagara Falls, grew up in power rich BC where electric buses and Canada’s electric driven longest rapid transit train are major transportion amongst many electric cars including Teslas, and I have lived where the Bay of Fundy’s highest tides in the world provide electricity and, amongst other concerns, where whales have been reportedly hurt or killed by the generating station’s sluice gates. Today new dams being built have created controversy in my power rich (full of dams) province with wind power alongside our neighbouring wind power province with some pretty unhappy residents. A short drive from here scientists worked together with Los Alamos and they developed working atomic batteries that have long term applications. So I guess that qualifies me to know a little (just enough to be a nuisance ) about electricity issues.

There’s a hybrid electric car next door. Yup, they’re popular and so is the environment. You can’t have both, and I would be the last to tell you which to choose. Some day the choice may be made for us as usual. Electric cars are inevitable. California should reconsider though IMHO. They could tag the vehicles like they tag Fender and others. I’ll leave the power grid up to y’all.

Now ya know.
