Awesome Band, Great movie. I was pissed off that they cut out all of the bass players scenes out of the movie though.

Lost Boys... yes, also a very cool flick and soundtrack with the Doors.

And yes, also to the Doors movie... Excellent. I saw it when it was in the theaters. I did not ever recall them having a bass player and that the keyboard was used to create the bass lines only. Guess I'd better check my music history.

No bass player. Keyboards were used for the bass lines.

You are partially correct...

When the band performed live, there were no bass players, HOWEVER, on some of the studio albums, they do feature bass lines by a bass player on some of the albums, and I did see a VH1 Classics episode recently about the first Doors album, and they do mention how sometimes in the studio, they have used a bass player on occasion. His name is Doug Lubahn, and he has a book about his experiences as the Doors studio bass player, on three albums – "Strange Days," "Waiting for the Sun,"and "The Soft Parade", Lubahn plays most of the bass lines that are such an important part of The Doors' sound:

To add to Bowlfresheners point... The Doors used Elvis Presleys bass player on the album L.A. WOMAN , according to the discs insert. His name is Jerry Scheff. They also used a rhythm guitarist named Marc Benno.... I don't know what else he did. Overall I really liked the Doors.

In 1973 Marc Benno and the Nightcrawlers had a young upcoming guitarist named Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I think the use of "The End" in Apocalypse Now was one of the smartest things every done in a movie.

On another Doors note, Iggy Pop from Iggy & The Stooges was called in for a few auditions after Jim Morrison's death, but nothing ever came about from that....I wonder what any of the audition jams may have sounded like... :?:
