I just saw this movie for the first time. I found it at the library and decided to watch it. I really like the Doors and have several albums. I thought it was interesting to see RK use a SG while developing several songs. Was this accurate info or just movie stuff. Is the Doors guitarist known to use a SG. What other guitars did he use? Even though I like the Doors I haven't seen band photos of them in years.... I really am curious about Robbys' guitar selection.... I'm guessing it's quite varied. Does anyone know?

Are you talking about the Val Kilmer Doors movie? If so, I think that is a great movie.

As far as I can remember Robbie only played SG's.

I agree and can only remember him playing SG's and having stacks of "Acoustic" brand amps.

Awesome Band, Great movie. I was pissed off that they cut out all of the bass players scenes out of the movie though.

It's funny. I didn't really start to appreciate the Doors until they'd been kaput for 20 years. I can still only take them in small doses.

My cousin's band "Hamilton Streetcar" opened for The Doors many times in the late 60's.

Val Kilmer actually did a lot of the singing in the movie.

In one of my prior posts I mentioned my cousin's group opening for The Doors. Here is a poster I have had on my computer for a while. Check out the ticket prices.

Lost Boys... yes, also a very cool flick and soundtrack with the Doors.

And yes, also to the Doors movie... Excellent. I saw it when it was in the theaters. I did not ever recall them having a bass player and that the keyboard was used to create the bass lines only. Guess I'd better check my music history.

'Never saw them live. The music was everywhere in their day, seemingly more when they were semi-ish underground than more recognised by the world. They weree ven featured in a LIFE mag on 'the new music.'

They were truly a band 'of the times' in this opinion.

Would tho like to use 'Crystal Ship' in soundtrack if novel becomes a movie....

No bass player. Keyboards were used for the bass lines.
