In your place I would put black plastic parts to match the pickguard.

Actually, I've been thinking about doing that. The white plastic is a big contrast to the maple neck, the aged-cherry body and the black pickguard. That may be down the road. I'm having too much fun playing it now. I still can't get over its great tone. :D

I have to say congrats that really is a looker, but you've probably heard this before, the red ones are the best. :D

Hi, Marky. If I’m not mistaken that’s a Plus Top? Well, it must be karma, because after seeing your great looking Aged Cherry Burst Strat, I got an email from my store putting me into a limited contest to possibly win a Player Strat with the draw in a few weeks. It’s not as spiffy as yours, it’s a Tidepool colour; but, maybe you’ve brought me some luck. I’ll have to wait as see. I’ll gladly take it. Meanwhile, I’m very happy to enjoy looking at yours. :P

Wow, good luck with that, FSB. That will be so cool when you win it. :)

Thanks, Marky. Not sure that will happen; but, who knows? I have your good luck thrown my way. :D
Did I tell you that I think yours is a beauty? Did you weigh it?

Yeap. It'll give it a nice 70s vibe.

Thanks so much, FSB! I have not weighed it myself but, according to Sweetwater, it weighs 7lbs 13ozs.

Congratulations, Marky! It looks like a beautiful instrument. I'm really starting to develop a case of G.A.S. with these new Players Series. You'll have to keep us updated as to how you're enjoying yours.

I absolutely love this guitar. The neck is so smooth and playable and the tone is so unique and captivating that you just want to keep hearing it. I can't get enough of it.

Fender has really gotten their ish together on their necks.
Personally, I really loved the old "V" necks and figured that my AmSpec would be "just another modern neck".
Not in the slightest. It really is a comfortable neck, and I'll hit a bend up around the 12th and it is so effortless that it's like the neck is covered with grease, but I can really feel the wood under my fingertip, and every now and then the feeling is just triggers something primal ooooooooooooooh ya!
