And bridge designs have been out since the late 70s that went to a 2-pivot system and featured fixed-radius saddles that were not height adjustable. They too work perfectly fine, as long as you don't want to change the radius, then you have to start shimming the saddles.
Fender apparently never saw the need to make that change to their production line, likely because they produce guitars with various neck radii, which would mean more part numbers to inventory.
It all goes back to production costs.
