One of my friends had tendonitis in his ankle and couldn't walk right for a long time. I hope you have better luck than him.

Try getting a wrist brace and wearing it for several hours a day.

That was you this morning? Sorry I didn't recognize the name so I just closed it. Try again.

You're Welcome. V-Picks are cool, I love mine and try to tell as many people about them as possible.

Treatments, particularly ice, may help to reduce inflammation and pain. Ultrasound is often of benefit. The ultrasound that I'm referring to here is “treatment ultrasound” as distinct from diagnostic ultrasound and is most commonly administered by a physical therapist.

Best wishes!

Being a programmer/online gamer/guitar player I developed carpel tunnel in my right hand. The symptoms included:

1. Right hand was always falling asleep.

2. I was continuously woke up several times each night night from the pain of my hand going to sleep. It got to the point where the only position I could lay was on my back with my right hand laying across my stomach. I tend to snore in that position so, needless to say, I got the poke a few time from the little woman.

I finally went to a specialist here in SoCal that did a laproscopic procedure and I was back home that same evening playing WoW. After about 3 weeks to a month I was at 100%.

I have been using a cold pack on & off.
Also I have been trying to type with my left hand less...
I have been using one of these while I am at work:

Trying to stay away from any movement that produces even slight pain...
My intention with the mild/painless exercise is to
increase circulation in hopes for accelerated healing.

I find my wrist bothers me only when I play sitting down for long periods of time which is what I do when I practice. When I stand and play, my wrist is in a more natural position and never bothers me.

Likely from your keyboard. Major ergonomic deficiency disorder, if I may take the liberty to coin the phrase.

Next big thing down the pike for present younger generation will be hearing loss. We, as a group, know of this first hand. The 'earbud generation' has yet to learn.

Any young people you know looking for a career track should be invited to consider audiology. Big money in hearing aids on the horizon, I'm sure.

Doc

I no how you feel about wrist pain I fell down about half dozen steps in the house Saturday. Bent my left wrist the wrong way or banged it on the stairs on the way down but it now hurts to move and it is sore and bruised from the top of my small finger to my wrist. I been doing the ice thing trying to keep swelling down some, but I think its just one of those things I'm going to have to deal with for a while.

I'm a lefty, who plays right handed (CA Feathers, are you listening, if you win that new guitar contest? I do lawns.)

Anyway......I think I may have broken a left wrist bone, lifting weights in the past, or by getting in a fight (long story.). Anyway....I often get a slight wrist pain in my left wrist when I'm playing. So far.....I just keep playing and it seems to go away (I am man....hear me roar.........). I've been lifting weights for years, and as a result have developed shoulder pain in both shoulders, that has cause pain enough to keep awake at night. I've recently tried taking Glucosamine for the last few months, and now I can do bench presses for almost no pain, and the pain has seemed to go away. But so far.....my wrist pain flares up from time to time. I was told that the Glucosamine takes about 6 weeks to kick in, and I've found it so in my case. So if you just started it.....be patient and see if it will also kick in with you, after 6 weeks. I still a little pain in my left wrist, but I'm waiting to see if that will also go away. I'm at the beginning stages of the Glucosamine.
