On my iPhone, I successfully purchased the Player Pack (via in-app purchase) for Fender tune that provides a chord reference, rhythms, and scales. However, when I go to my iPad (using the same iTunes account) it prompts me to Purchase those three in-app features separately a second time. Am I supposed to be able to get them for free on this secondary device or do I have to pay again? If the former, how do I get the App Store to recognize that I've already paid.

Frustrating!

It sounds like an Apple issue - give them a call. 1-800-MY-APPLE

Good luck!

I avoid iOS like the plague at this point, but this article might help:

https://www.pocket-lint.com/apps/news/a ... os-devices

I'm thinking maybe since the "Player Pack" is an "in-app purchase" it might be like game data where it's not part of the app and thus doesn't transfer from one device to the next along with the app.

May have to do w/ a sync function between devices...I hate that and avoid it always.

But I'm not "transferring" the app in any real sense; I'm simply downloading Fender Tune de novo onto a second device and I want to be able to use the Player Pack I paid for (assuming the license covers multiple devices).

right, that's what I'm saying. If it were a game, your game progress wouldn't automatically download with the app on the second device. You would have to do a transfer/sync instead of a download to take the progress with it. Or at least that's how it used to work.

"As LifeHacker noted, most apps and games allow you to transfer data via the built-in iTunes backup service, which involves plugging in your old device and syncing it with iTunes, then plugging in your new device and choosing restore, and restoring data for those apps.

But if you want to ensure that all your hard work in a particular game, such as Minecraft, is saved and moved to your new device, here's how to back up individual app data to your computer
"

Again, I'm in the Android camp so this could be entirely wrong. Article is a little old.

I figured it out.

When you choose the added feature like the Chords section, if you scroll down to the very bottom, the Restore Purchases button appears. I missed it before. It worked as intended.
