Not old cars that you used to drive, but what are you driving these days and
how would you rate the vehicle in terms of gas mileage, reliability, handling,
etc. Also what options (bells & whistles) do you have on them?

Discuss...

2007 Pontiac Vibe. Great reliable car (supposedly it's a Toyota engine in there), but unfortunately Pontiac went out of business right after I bought it. :? If you want to check out something similar I believe the Toyota Matrix is pretty much the same car:

I'm driving a Chevy Malibu with 174k miles. This is why I'm asking. It's time...

I do like those Rav 4s and the CR-Vs and some others.

My Rav4 has 225,000 kms (~140k mi.) on the clock.
I think I'm finally having a mid-life crisis because I never had one when it was expected of me.
I'm looking closely at the VW Golf R.
Like a GTI but further down that sporty road.
I think if I got it without the racer-boy 19" wheels and in a sane, non screaming, non cheese-eating high-school boy colour it might serve well as an old man's performance compact daily driver with some heated cargo area for a guitar and amp.

2002 Toyota Tundra, best truck I've ever owned!!
Bought new for Christmas in 2001. Just over 83K miles, should last another 100k if it doesn't rust out.

2015 Corvette Stingray. 29-30 mpg highway, 23-24 around town. As for reliability haven't had a single problem. Handling is...well its a Corvette so it handles great and its pretty much fully loaded. 460hp, 465 lbs of torque so plenty to get you in trouble and even at 165 mph it still pulls like a hammer. My daily driver is 16 Cruze Premier and on my latest trip up to Michigan I got 41mpg even cruising at 78-80 mph.

About 60,000 miles on it now, it's been rock solid. I've had no trouble with the CVT, and still on the factory front brakes. Just swapped tires a few weeks ago, but even they would have made 65k had I rotated them... rear tires had plenty of life left.
It's not a sports car, but it has some personality, and it's great on gas at 32-35 normally and I can pull 40 on a road trip.

Very nice....and the Cruze sounds interesting for it's size.

CB91710 - As much as I like American cars, that sounds very decent.

My current fleet:

2005 Honda Pilot LX, fully optioned with AWD in Claret Red Clearcoat. About 21 mpg in town, 24.5 on the highway. Our interstate prime mover for vacations and big enough to accommodate a big-box Fender Dual Showman cabinet. Just over 70K miles now on the odo.

2016 Nissan Frontier King Cab SE-V6, fully optioned 4x4 in White. 20 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the freeway. Good hauler for groceries, guitars, guns, gravel, and other landscaping commodities. An off-road "escape pod" for when the pavement ends. Not quite 5K miles on the clock.

2009 Toyota Tacoma TRD double-cab, fully optioned in Speedway Blue. 21 mpg around town, 24 on the road. A real pretty rig with a great sound system (JBL/Bose), factory-equipped with a 400-watt AC converter so I can take a Strat and an amp out to the desert and wail. Now pushing 31K miles.

1969 Chevelle SS396 coupe (restored) in LeMans Blue. It gets mierda mpg in the barrio and scheisse on the autobahn but I don't give a crap. You gotta really like cars if you prefer high performance but you gotta *LOVE* them to drive something like this. I wave arrogantly every time I pass a Prius.

Well... it was built in Mississippi, so there's that ;) Wife's Rav4 was built in Canada.

Yeah, I looked at all the competitors to the Cruze, and the Civic was the closest but to get all the safety, convenience, and leather options in the Civic, the cost was much more than the Cruze. The Cruze actually feels bigger than it is (In a good way), the ride is good and handling and braking is crisp. The longer I have it the better I like it.

FWIW

Interesting tidbit...2 forum members have driven with me in my Malibu.

ZZDoc and Frankie the Kid. Frankie doesn't post much anymore because he and Jeannie
have expanded their painting/lettering business and have customers such as Aerosmith,
Carly Simon and Hyannis Music Theater.
