There aren't any dealers close to me, so I just wanted to know if it's possible.

Even if you could, it would probably be at the MSRP price, not at the discount you can get from one of the mail order companies.

I don't think you can, but as mentioned, you go always get something from places like Guitar Center, SamAsh, MusiciansFriend, SameDayMusic, Music123, etc. There are plenty of great sites out there. Just make sure you pick one with a good return policy in the event that you get a dud. Most will let you send the guitar back to get another, but make sure they have that.

Anyone of those places would have a return policy that mirror each other. It's a pain to send things back to them tho, and customer service is lacking on mail order due to the person you speak to is somewhere else compared to the warehouse. Although it sounds like the OP lives pretty far away from anything, so this might be the option.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I've ordered three guitars, online, with no problems at all. They came in perfect condition, and play great.

The only thing was........with one, the setup was off. But then.....that's just a setup.

I've ordered two guitars online - my Squier '51 came from samash.com and my Squier Cherryburst Strat came from guitartrader.com - both were fine - well packed and in very good condition - new strings and a tuning was all they needed. The Squier '51 needed the saddles adjusted but other than that all was good.

The VG Strat I just won is perfect - but it got shipped from the Fender warehouse :D

Ordering from a good place with a good return policy and you should be fine. That's what I did.

But YMMV. Lots of folks order via the net - not many complaints that I've seen.
