I'm sorry, I just can't imagine anyone on this forum being quite this "willing to help" a young talented male guitar player...

So a bunch of senior musicians behaved with gallantry toward a young girl they saw promise in and were fond of. Well golly gee, I certainly see your point, that's just awful. Let's all pound our chests in fury and bellow at the heavens at the injustice of it all.

The real injustice is that the music industry is still heavily dominated by males. So if people on this forum were able to help a talented girl become a professional musician, I say good on them.

This might jog the memory of some when I recall that we gathered together to purchase a practice amp for one of our charter members to help in getting over a rather large mountian in his life, and served as a senstivity group for him at that time. For another, we helped him put together a partscaster when he was obliged to cash in his last guitar due to financial issues. As to Rebecca Laird's relationship with the Forums, we have not yet seen the equivalent of her in male gender made known to us in the 11 years I've been following this group. We've followed her, sharing her fascination with guitar, through her high school years and then through college as a music major who was immersed in a constellation of study areas within that discipline. She is, by a long stretch, not a self-taught, bedroom and garage-band wunderkind. She has ALL the marbles.
