Jimmy Nolen, the guitarist used a Fender Twin when I saw them decades ago. Not
sure what those could be over there (perhaps rented for show?).

Since it's an Italian show, I'm thinking the best bet would be to try and find out about Italian amps, or other European brands from the time period. Kind of like a needle in a haystack, though. There's this site: http://www.fetishguitars.com They feature a lot of Italian guitars from the 60's, including some ones that also made amps. I think if anyone might know, it could be some of those people that put the site together.

You know after seeing a closer shot of those amps, the badge on the cabs, as well as the logo on the head, kind of looks like it could be Guild, but I just looked at a page that showed old Guild amps (http://www.vintageguitarandbass.com/adDetails/167) and those don't seem to match up, and the Guild badges are on the other side of the cabs.

Vinyl found a video with same amps in background. Ike & Tina Revue, same show.

No clue who made amps and cabs. At first, I thought it might be Hagstrom. But, logo is wrong.

They must be some sort of backline for the studio, or whatever that is there. It's like those old Beat Club/Musik Laden videos that always had Orange amps around with whatever bands that played on there, like that Black Sabbath video for "Iron Man" or "Paranoid." Those were filmed on that show, and that's probably the only time you'd see them play through Orange, when they typically used Laney, or Tony Iommi did, at least.

Hard to see, but they appear to be Selmer Amps.

That looks like something that starts either with the letter "J," or perhaps an "M" with a curvy font. At least it's something close up to work with.

A lot of amps I haven't seen for a long time. And some I don't remember, even if I had seen them.

Well, I gotta say this is a challenge. I took the day off from chores today and spent hours yesterday and today searching for those amps with no success.

I looked up amps, preamps, and cabs separately. I looked up Italian amps, European amps, late 60s and 70s, and found a list of Italian amps present and past. I even looked up Garnet from Winnipeg so as not to rule it out from it’s time related heyday. Several browsers and websites with images and or texts, YouTube and other searches for bands of that era turned over nothing, even after viewing that RAI program with other performers of the time. I even thought Gretsch might have had a clue, possibly logo wise with, perhaps, a G, and being that Gretsch did a similar practice of making angled cuts on the face of their amps (although not alone). None of the aforementioned amps suggested seems to fit with either the head amp layout or cab artistic design.

I couldn’t find any association with the artists, and, who knows, those skookum looking amps on the program could be custom one offs, and/or made by another company other than the logo (which I could not focus on zoomed in or located with clarity elsewhere), or that gear had poor documentation for a variety of reasons?

There’s an answer somewhere. Maybe one of our Italian members will have better luck. There’s lots of knowledge and resources from the Lizards here in the Forum, and ya just never know.

Then again, maybe their looks were just for looks or maybe the looks were the best thing about them and they were quickly retired without fanfare or applause.

Should be an interesting search.

Cheers!
FSB

Great post. Bootsy on a Fender Jazz bass guitar, two monster drummers and I would definitely like one of those dancers at gigs lol. BMW2002Ti, thanks for the awesome link. :D

Funny, I bookmarked that same site while trying to ID those amps.
My best guess at the badge was Mach.
I believe they may be both Bass/Guitar transistor type early amps from the late 60's or very early 70's.
I'm stumped too.
