Hi Guys,
I got my dream '52 tele reissue 6 months ago.
Firstly excuse my incorrect terminology before i go any further, Im just home from the pub!
On the back of my neck, (not the finger board side) where the dark brown line of wood meets the normal wood, a small blemish has appeared. Its not from a fall or lack of care because I am extremely cautious where I place my guitar. It surely cant be from ware, I play about an hour a day. I am very afraid that the neck coating will crack or peel from this point, thus extremely altering the playability of my guitar. There is no further marks around it, proving it was not handled badly.
What should i do? I am afraid to play it now. Am I worrying over nothing? I am afraid if i bring it to get checked out, I will be laughed at or else told that the neck needs a new spray job.
Any advice will be really appreciated, i am looking at my tele but i am afraid to play it.
Help!!!

Is the finish cracked at the line between the maple and the walnut (the darker wood) stripe?

You might be able to fix it yourself with some crazy glue, a little fine sanding, and then polishing it back to gloss.

Take it in and have it checked out. If they laugh at you, so what? At least you'll get a good answer, and you'll have peace of mind. I've often had questions about my guitar. And if I thought it could be something serious, I just took a drive over to a guitar tech.

Once I was just curious about my fret wear. I didn't know how far I should let it go, before doing something about it. So......I took my guitar in to have a guitar tech look at it. I ask him how much longer should I go, before getting the frets dressed. He told me "about two years ago". I thought I still had a lot of time to go. So I ended up having the frets dressed.
