Toggle switch that activates the neck pickup for use with the bridge PU? I’m considering doing this with my EC Strat and was hoping to see some opinions on it.

Never tried the toggle switch thing but two of my Strats have the bottom tone control dedicated to blending the neck pup in. In retrospect a toggle would have been more efficient as I rarely do any actual blending. I usually just roll it all the way in or all the way out. I do very much appreciate having the bridge/neck option available to me. I find it very useful.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

How does it sound to you with both neck bridge active? Good tone ? Mellow/ bright?

I use that position when I want to roughly emulate the sound of a Tele in the middle position. It’s a bit warmer and smoother (less bite) than a real Tele but generally similar.

G&L S500 has that from the factory, you might be able to find a demo on Youtube.

I'd recommend a push-pull pot on the bottom tone pot rather than a toggle. That way it's reversible without having to buy a new pickguard if you don't like it, or just leave it off.

The Fender Deluxe Player Strat has an S1 switch that give you the option of neck and bridge together. There will be youtube vids of that model.

Fergyuk, thanks for posting the pic. I think that push pull looks a bit better than a toggle does visually

Do you like the tone with the Bridge / neck on ?

BTW I don't think 17 guitars is enough man! LOL I'm jealous

It's like BMW-KTM said middle Tele-ish sound.
I do like the extra it gives but when it's not engaged it plays as a normal strat.

i have the deluxe players setup in one of my strats. found it used on ebay for a good price. I used the bridge position with the button pushed in for a more acoustic type of sound. you can also put the pickup selector in the neck-mid position and push the button in for all 3 pickups to be used. I find this a nice option to have.
