So, we all love our Fenders here. It goes without saying.

Me, I own both, Fender and Gibson guitars, and there's no doubt I am a Fender man, and will always be. My American strat is my soulmate. The guitar I played more gigs, jams, studio sessions and rehearsals with.

My drummer says I sound better with a Fender strat than I do with whatever else. I agree. I'm a strat cowboy. Yeehaw!

Seriously, I get emotional every time I open that tweed case and look at my Fender Stratocaster.

But many of us have another guitar we have to or like to use for definite purposes. That song that needs a different approach or pickup. Heavy stuff, mostly, in my case.

So, let's share our other guitars!

This is the one I play when I'm not playing my two Fenders.

My 1961 Reissue Faded Gibson SG

It's a stripped down, zero-BS version of the classic SG with Gibson 57 humbuckers.

I can't seem to really "bond" with it. As a matter of fact I tried to get rid of it more than once. But It always goes wrong and I get to keep it. I use it merciless whenever I need humberdinckers.

Show yours!

That is a super nice SG! I’m like you I have tons of respect for Gibson’s but just can’t bond with them the same way I do strats.

Played a nice PRS the other day - everything was great about it , played great. Nothing to dislike about it excet maybe the in between tone - but again just couldn’t bond with it.

My other love is Martin acoustics. I have a D 15m and man does it have a super sweet mellow tone.

I have a bipolar case of love and hate with it. Sometimes I love it beacuse it's brown, faded and has several vintage specs. Sometimes I hate it exactly because of that. Like I said, I tried to sell/trade it several times, but never got to close the deal. It seems that this guitar was meant to belong to me, this mutt. Anyway SGs are mutts by definition. Damn it.

Show your Martin!

My Fender USA Geddy Lee Jazz is the top dog. The next one, is the Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo. They both play through a Fender Bassman setup. Basses are great, but amps are really something else.ImageImageImage

I gotta be honest, there is just something about Gibson's Midtown Custom that I just love. Its like a light Les Paul and the tone of the Burstbuckers are a bit of a guilty pleasure!

My second love is my SG Standard HP that I use when I need those beautiful '57classic / '57 classic+ pickups to get the tone that I want. But nothing feels better in my hands than my Strat. There's just something about a Strat that makes it right. Here's my SG. The first two pictures were taken by Sweetwater before it arrived and the third picture I took the day I received it.

truth be told, I'm more a gibson guy..

I am happy with the fender stuff I've collected, (2 USA strats, + 1 tele, 4x10 HR Deville, and a Mustang MIII) but the strats and teles are not my "go to" axes. Les Paul Standards are the weapon of choice when plugging in, I have other gibsons too. My SJ200 standard is an awesome thing.

This has been my best guitar acquisition in a LONG while.

It's one of my top 5 guitars in my 50 guitar/bass collection.

It's been getting most of my attention for a while now.

It cover so much ground tonally, it's hard not to want to use it.

And a just over 6 lbs., it's really a no brainer.
