Hello all,

Hoping to find an answer to my problem. I have a hotrod deluxe iii and I am not getting any sound from it. Only some static when you turn the volume all the way up. However I have a signal when I plug my guitar into the Power Amp In input. What could be the problem?

Perhaps you read the opening post as saying "nothing but static with nothing plugged in".

But I'm pretty sure he meant "nothing but static with the guitar plugged into the main input, but he can hear the guitar by bypassing the preamp and plugging into the fx loop return".

Probably a preamp tube has died. Get a known-working 12AX7 and try swapping it, one at a time, for each of the preamp tubes that are in the amp.

Thank you. I’m going to try that and hopefully that will fix the problem
