Sadly, that happened with a lot of really good bands. The airplay of Synchronicity ruined The Police for me. It got to the point that it was like traffic reports... I'd hear the song 3 times on my 45 minute lunch break. The "pop" themed Journey songs soured me on the band and it wasn't for another 30 years that I really came to appreciate Schon's work.
