I love this thread, it's amazing how things have changed but it stayed the same... 8)

Here's one I have never heard of... The Bronco?

And this Jag-Stang(?) ad is pretty funny...

These are the ads you can order reissue prints of right here on the site. As a matter of fact, I need to order these - perhaps I'll do that once the forum t-shirts are up for sale...

As a professional illustrator I would love to land a gig illustrating ads for Fender. :D

Thanks for posting those, Jim. Those are the "fairy tale" ads from the mid-'70s: Alice in Wonderland, The Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. They are full page illustrations in the 1976 Fender catalog I have. Dig the Starcaster that Snow White's playing! Love it.

I've been trying to find an ad for the Fender Swinger but no luck. I know they weren't around long, but I thought I could find an ad.

This is not an ad, so maybe this is not the right topic to post to, but it is keeping with the vintage picture theme. Plus I'm an engineer, and I really like this stuff. This is one of Leo Fender's original patent drawings.

Hey everybody! Fantastic to see these ads! :D

I have an original set of 4 of the Fairytale posters,
The Goldielocks & The 3 Bears,
The 3 Little Pigs,
The Jack and the Beanstalk,
And The Snow White...

I would love to add the Alice in Fenderland, and the Little Red Ridinghood (original posters) to my collection !

These are just for me, I will never get rid of the set.

My family owns the oldest Fender dealership in Indiana, and these posters were hung in my room as a child. They mean so much to me! :)

I've read this thread, and I know if they are out there, you guys would know about them! So, what's the scoop? Do these posters still come up for auction? Does anyone have the 2 I'm missing?

I've been searching for Alice for quite a while, as I remember my dad wearing the Alice T-shirt. I'm not sure what happened to the original Alice in my set, but I don't remember seeing it in poster form.

Thank you all for any info!

Hey Aimless Harmony & Cryingstrat -

I'll be keeping and eye out and if I ever come across anything I'll be sure to let you know.

Cryingstrat, I can't even seem to find an actual ad for the Swinger online at all, though I continue to browse.

Aimless, cool story about your posters! I can only imagine how special the are!

The ads I have are these Fairy Tale images, however, mine do not have the type at the bottom...

And the poster as a whole is much bigger than the repros. They are a full 20x30 and I think the repros are 16x20?...

I dig that though, I'm glad that Fender decided to share these old ads with a new generation, but didn't make them so close to the originals that it would be hard to tell them apart. Obviously, the originals have the CBS Fender name and a copyright of 1975-6, but from a distance, without reading the copyright, you can tell the originals from the repros.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for Alice and Little Red Riding Hood!

I'm moving into a new house and hopefully my boyfriend will allow me to put my poster collection in the livingroom instead of just in my office!

I guess mine were more in-store poster ads instead of the magazine ads. The Fairy Tales with the stories at the bottom...those are repros of the magazine ads, right?
