.....what do you guys/gals charge for your group for a 4 hr gig.

I realize that geography is a huge component in the pricing, clubs in large urban areas obviously have higher operating expenses than here in Central WI.

Hopefully not to "nosy" of a question.

We get on average $100 per member in both bands, which I'm happy with. This is a hobby and we have all of gear paid for so it's all for some fun and pocket change.

That was always my band's rule of thumb. Each member should walk away with at least $100 in their pocket.

That is NOT $25/hour because you have to take into account rehearsals/travel/money spent on equipment, etc.

I'm sure it depends on your location (I am in NY) but at least around here, taking less than that is lowering your standards and doing a disservice to all other bands in your area.

Just remember, they will expect you to draw some customers or they might not have you back.

It varies quite a bit actually and most gigs are 3 hours these days. I do remember doing
5 hour gigs back in the 70s and that was 7 nights a week with a matinee show.

Many types of gigs to consider for example clubs, corporate functions, formals (weddings),
showcases, cruise ships, etc. so the amount is really all over the place.

Yep; in small town Iowa it usually works out to $100 per band member. Occasionally you will find a gig where you get a set rate PLUS a portion of the door admission.
In the 80's it was easy to get the venue to throw in free drinks for the band...but you'll NEVER get these cheap, greedy, stingy, business owners to do that now---atleast not around here.
