I looked in a couple of times and can not imagine that was considered a halftime show. At least no one took a knee. Hopefully next season will be all about football.

it pains me greatly that the brilliant Steve Marriott is barely a footnote in the annals of rock-n-roll compared to the "great guitar playing of Peter Frampton".

You know what the difference is? I can't think of a single track Steve Marriott played on off the top of my head. But pretty much everyone knows "ooooh baby I love your way" and "do you feel like we do?".

And this might not have helped his music career:

"In later life Marriott became disillusioned with the music industry and turned his back on the big record companies, remaining in relative obscurity."

And that is EXACTLY what is sooooo friggin' sad ... "I Don't Need No Doctor"?? "30 Days In The Hole"?? "Stone Cold Fever"?????
Those don't even ring a bell??? Look, I know Frampton had way bigger hits than Humble Pie did. But ... that does not make Frampton "better". And, in the case of Steve Marriott, based upon my humble (no pun intended ... well mostly) opinion, Frampton was far less than Marriott. Just an opinion ... I am not trying to convince any body ...

I just listed to all 3 tracks on YouTube and honestly .... nope. I never listened to “Humble Pie” and they certainly haven’t gotten much radio play where I live. Either that or I keep turning it off, because these tracks don’t ring any bells.

Also, not saying Frampton was better at anything. Just that he had commercial success and some of songs are very well known. You could say the same about Justin Bieber - doesn’t mean I’m a fan or think he’s a better player/singer than anyone in particular.

There’s probably someone who hangs out at your local Sam Ash that’s a better guitar player than Frampton and Marriott combined. He (or she) is not famous either.

Yeah, I have no issue with that ... For me personally, it has just always bothered me that Frampton (who had some very lame albums IMO and was a marginal guitar player at best) had such huge success when the real talent was left behind in Humble Pie (who had lots of great material, not just a couple of songs). It is my own personal pet peeve, and I fully acknowledge that. No issues with you, bro...
