Life is a tumble. I've changed my whole arsenal several times over since I was last here, and to be honest, I'm still not done. I might thin the herd to 3 guitars, but I'm very happy right now.

L to R
1982 Cimar (???, ML?) MIJ roughly $150 in trade
1983 Electra X1PW $100 or so in trade, traded an EHX Blurst I got on the cheap for it.
1990 MIJ Squier Stratocaster, $170, refretted with stainless, the store didn't even notice.
197(8? According to Atomic Music) Gretsch BST-1500, $250

I had a 1980 Lead II with a Floyd Rose, a couple old Matsumoku and Moridira Axes, a Vantage hollow body, and many others. Sold a bunch of gear in the last few months, only to get more. I'll probably keep trading around until my S-70 eventually circles back to me.

Wow you disappeared for almost a year! I remember some of the ones you sold. All cool finds. If I could try only one guitar in that pic, I’d be playing the Gretsch. Nice new/old collection.

I took the Gretsch to a party on Saturday night. It was great fun.

I'm watching Spongebob currently, Gretsch in hand. Sounds better clean than dirty, and sounds better than all of the others combined.

I actually passed on a pristine Westbury Deluxe for about the same price to get the Gretsch. To be honest, though the Gretsch has a few issues, I'd rather play it instead. Much better guitar to be honest.

I've just had so much going on that it's hard to make time for the forums. I loved it when it was super lively around here, though.

Pretty cool collection you got going there. 8) I see you still have the Peavey, as well. So how life has been treating you lately? I remember you had a rough patch there for awhile, but I think you were starting to do pretty well the last time you posted.

The Envoy 110? Yea, it'll never leave my collection. Longest standing piece of gear I own.

The Deuce? A sailor wouldn't take it if he needed a boat anchor in a hurricane lol. Great amp, haven't fired it up in probably 6 months.

I recently ran through a few cars too. Sold my 4Runner (huge regret, but it didn't pass emissions) picked up a 96 Rav4 with only 132K on the odo for $1600, gotta do a lot of major maintenance this spring. My other car (Acura Vigor) $@!& the bed on NYE so I sold it this past Friday and used the money to buy the Gretsch lol.

I could be worse. I'm living very hard right now. I play the lottery in hopes that I'll win so my life will get easier, then I can pay someone to fix my cars. Part of me hates turning wrenches for a living, but at least It's a skill I can run with. I try to keep a good attitude I guess.

There's nothing wrong with pulling wrenches for a living.
So you have dirty hands sometimes ... big deal.
You also save tons of money fixing your own ride instead of paying shop rate.

I will assume you're on flat rate.
Keep at it.
Concentrate on quality first.
You can work on speed after you get perfect.
Keeping the come-backs down to zero is the most important thing.
It's way more important than staying under the flat rate time.
Making a little less per hour in order to make a name for yourself is much more important than making nothing per hour fixing a come-back, which just ruins any name you might have made.

It's a good skill to have. You could even get into something like marine mechanics, or other related fields. It sure beats being a dishwasher at Denny's, if you want to talk about a suck $@! job. I've had to do that at one point in my life.

I think the Deuce would survive a hurricane. Those thinks are built like tanks. Weigh about as much as one, too. :P

I rushed out on my break to grab a Blackstar HT-1 for $100. I couldn't resist. It's brand new In the box. Never been turned on outside of a store apparently.

Yea, but now I'm getting pulled to pieces by family who need help. Have you ever sucked it up and done a timing belt for free? I'm hourly (thank fking god lol)

No, but I fix computers for a living. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve put in 3+ hours of work for free. Not just family but also coworkers.

Most offer to pay but I always turn it down. If people really wanted to give me something back, they should barter but that seems to be a lost art.
