Thanks, for the posts and links on the Line 6 Multi Effects and Hot Rod IVs, Mike.

Not sure if I like the aged grill cloth on the HRs though. Old (aged throughout) is cool, new is cool, old and new look together . . . I dunno. This is probably because I gave up smoking some time ago, or maybe because I think stage presence could use a little if not a lot of pizazz. YMMV Maybe an option in that grill cloth area would be appreciated. I guess we’ll soon know how that look garners interest.

At least it doesn’t look like a metal BBQ rack. :P

Solid pine cabinet is nice though.

Yes! also interesting is that "They feature Celestion A speakers rather than Eminence on a few of the models, which is a pretty big deal, as Fender has used Eminence for years."

Yeah! That’s a big change for sure. Some might find the change and performance subjective. Eminence are beautiful speakers, but Celestions and Jensen and to some extent JBL, all have a following.

Here’s where I find changes like this awkward. When used for recording the traditional choice is a given. Change like this may or may not warrant a speaker swap to match the original (all things being equal - which they seldom are). For live performance changes come and go whether it’s sponsorship, reliability, choice, or other reason.

Sometimes you want that period correct engine in the ‘57 Chevy. Other times you want it hot rodded. Still other times the cost plays a part in the decision. The bright side is it could all be good based on individual merit.

Here's another video from the NAMM booth with Todd cradling a 30th Anniversary Masterbuilt Journeyman Relic "Blackie" EC Custom.

The EJ artist model is probably a regular production line guitar maybe even a MIM; being priced about $1200(from the article).
The CS had several in the vid that Mike posted in various colors but I don't recall which colors I saw. I cant see the vid postings w/ IE10, that's why I always post links. Maybe someone else is using IE10 also. Occasionally I feel stupid not seeing what video was posted and jump over to Edge to watch the vids and by then I'm ready for a break from the PC. Vids are a PITA for me as I still prefer IE10 over Edge or other browsers.
