Well, Monday Mrs, mud calls and says, would you like to go see Alvin Lee tonight at the Falcon ( a dinner night club), I said I would love to, but I am pretty certain he died a few years back, so I looked up to see who was playing. It turns out it is Albert Lee, she was pretty close, both English, both with Lee as a last name and both names begin with A.
I said well he is a pretty good picker and I have not seen him so let go.. I am glad I did, what a great picker he is, I mean he has played with some great ones, like: Emmylou Harris, Bo Diddley – The London Bo Diddley Sessions, Jerry Lee Lewis – The London Sessions, Jon Lord – Gemini Suite, Joe Cocker – Sting Ray, five years with Eric Clapton, playing and singing for a live concert recording at the Budokan in Japan, just to name a few. Lee was responsible for the Everly Brothers' 1983 reunion concert and was its musical director. He played regularly with the Everlys for over twenty years.
Well He was quite entertaining and wow he did have some ripping leads, Lee made it look way too easy as if he was born to be a guitar player. His band was very tight and he has very good vocals on top of it all. I would recommend seeing him if he is in your area, His style was country-picking, rockabilly and old fashion rock and roll. In the end Mrs. mud say she like it, he did a lot of quick songs about a 2 hour set, Mrs. mud gets a little board with Jam bands, I myself like jam bands but that is me.

Glad you got to see and enjoy , Albert, mud. Hey! Just think. He got to see our famous mud.
Any woman, girlfriend or wife, that takes you to a concert is a keeper in my books. If you're married, you'll wanna make sure she's your wife.
Ya think they take us so we don't so we don't act stoopid? :P

LOL! Yes. I purposely do not go anywhere (when the possibility of alcohol consumption is imminent) without my wife. She doesn't drink so she's a great designated driver...and she absolutely does a great job of keeping me in line.
Admittedly, I quit drinking hard liquor 7 years ago, and I don't get nowhere near as stupid as I used to, so her job of babysitting me has gotten MUCH easier for her.

And; I wouldn't hesitate for a second to go see Albert Lee if he came to my area...an amazing talent to say the least!

Very Cool !!

Saw him a few yrs. back at a local friend's Jazz Club.

Had the front/center table and Albert was just 3 ft. away. Great show and really nice conversation w/ him.

My recap: https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=88216&hilit=Albert+Lee

Cheers!

It was a very cold night (below zero) when we saw him and he heated up the place for sure!

This was close to the setlist he played but added a few more.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

It's surprising who you chat to , without knowing too much about them on a forum

I am on an expat Turkish forum (we moved over to a villa in Turkey nearly 3 years ago)
Someone asked me via PM , if the guitar in my avatar was mine, I replied in a PM, yes it was and he sent me this PM back

That's awesome! He DID say he loved Scotty (Moore) and Cliff's (Gallup) playing a lot.
