The mad spread of chemicals by corporations has the most horrible effect on the bee population. To keep things real - earths rotation: 1037 mph. earths orbital speed: 67,000 mph. Add to that our wobbly axis, changing magnetic fields, gravity pull by every celestial body within 10 million miles and people are supposed to just believe that man made climate change is a cause or that will change the earth. ghost, cool video. FSB, you are right mankind is temporary in comparison to what really causes change. If you need an expert that hasn't been bought try John Coleman, Chicago's old weatherman (nothing to do with the weathermen of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn infamy).

That may very well be the case, but so far nobody has been able to crack the code to find out what specifically is causing CCD. The list of possible causes (copied from Wikipedia's page) is very long, and -surprise surprise, "climate change" is on the list.

Possible causes
4.1 Pesticides
4.2 Pathogens and immunodeficiency theories
4.3 Fungicides
4.4 Antibiotics and miticides
4.5 Climate change
4.6 Bee rentals and migratory beekeeping
4.7 Selective commercial breeding and lost genetic diversity in industrial apiculture
4.8 Malnutrition
4.9 Electromagnetic radiation
4.10 Parasitic phorid fly
4.11 Genetically modified crops

The code has been cracked for a long time ghost. The ebb and flow of life on the earths surface has its changes that is micro to macro. Archaeologists and geologists, anthropologists the other guys ( I forgot their disciplines) know what and why but they don't handicap. Those selling the so called remedy (snake oil salesman better known as seedy profiteers ) don't have time to wait.

Colony Collapse Disorder was first reported in 2006. How long is a long time for you?

"One study evaluated 61 factors, and found that no single stressor stood out as the primary cause of CCD. However, colonies affected by CCD had more pathogens and more types of pathogens than colonies without CCD. Pathogens are disease-causing organisms. A group of stakeholders that gathered in 2012 found a similar consensus, that a complex group of stressors and pathogens are associated with CCD." from: National Pesticide Information Center

Thanks for the link ghost. Response to collapse as disorder is a tall order. Immune concerns are heavy duty, causation and pathogens gets an alarm. Why behavior patterns alter, related to those physiological invasions one way or the other, changes, psyche, my stupid is showing.

Hey, ghost. Thanks, for bringing the bee’s challenge to light. I did know much of this. My yard has been (as much as possible) environmentally responsible for bee’s, and other creatures such as myself for some time. I have plants to support the bees. I didn’t get to this stage by accident or following some zany environmentalist movement. I take a long hard look and weigh the information accordingly.

I’m no expert, thankfully, and that allows me to think outside the box instead of being a clone. I was the kid who got kicked out of Chemistry because I asked a simple sincere question whether the teacher had ever seen a molecule. I figured he didn't, but I never got to ask the rest of the question. That’s what you get with good grades and for doing chemistry at home at the age of ten. However, I am knowledgable of this. When I was 14 years old I came home to my dog tied to a stake while he foamed at the mouth and his eyes rolled back. Rabies was thought to be the problem until we discovered that our federal government applied roadside XXX and it had been the cause for him to be put out of his misery by a rifle. Other dogs and cats fell to the same fate.

Call me a sceptic or call me experienced in knowing there are times when government, corporations, and scientific reports or labels are a) not telling the whole truth b) not knowledgeable of the truth c) not provided the truth d) missing information e) not proven and tested applications f) not privy to all responsible scientific or organizational groups g) putting public safety knowingly at risk.

In my case the same company and government(s) responsible for my dog’s death rebadged a similar product. and, for years, continued to provide a series of similar products that were and are said to be equally safe only to make a profit that included similar company and government promotion with similar public acceptance until the products were admittedly found to be questionable or knowingly unsafe after the fact. Unwanted and unused chemicals are found unethically shipped overseas and some are mislabeled or not labeled at all. Here’s the rub. Government trade and donations have been known to be part of the delivery.

So when I hear how well the scientific community and government support special interest I have no trouble doing this:
It’s not that I don’t believe them, it’s just that I hold them to a higher standard.

We keep hearing that economists are correct about this and that and their suggestions are the gospel. Greenspan proved this not to be a good idea. Obviously, these people never read Scientic American that once reported an article that scientifically and mathematically proved (from long collected research) that economists’ predictions over time are doomed to fail. Recent history has shown examples of this.

Here’s a sampling of that article:

https://www.scientificamerican.com/arti ... ays-wrong/

No matter. We’ll follow that ill directed path anyhow.

Back to science. Are scientists, even the best, ever wrong?

https://www.quora.com/Has-Stephen-Hawki ... es?share=1

Let’s give the Global Warming gurus the benefit of the doubt for example sake.

Even if the so called experts are right that global warming needs correction, it doesn’t give them the right to a blank cheque (especially mine or yours) to cash in on a solution. Their solution may be prioritized incorrectly, irrelevant, or no solution. IMHO.

“Yes, Lars. The world really is flat. The experts say so ... until the next one with the right answer comes along.” “No Chris! You won’t fall off the end of earth. The new expert says so.”
