I'm surprised they've lasted this long.
What with there being no Carvin retailers where people can sample the products.
It was always a questionable business model.

That, and I've only ever tried two Carvin guitars in my life and neither one of them was very memorable.
Rather lacklustre, actually.
Like playing a Mann or a Samick, they left me feeling sort of ..... meh.

Thanks Mr. Nylon I went to the Carvin website and there is a closeout sale going on for their guitar and bass amps. The 18" bass speaker cabs are all gone, just 15"s and 10"s left.

With Carvin goes the last affordable Made in USA amp choice. There are very few high end ones left. Mesa Boogie, Thunderfunk, Magnatone, Bergantino, Fargen, Carr, Lil Dawg and a few others I can not think of right now, but I'm sure someone knows them all.

There are lots of people building amps in garages and basements for themselves, friends, family and bandmates. That is not a put down or anything, but rather a plus because that is exactly how SUNN amps started.

Of course these days it is downright impossible to build a amp in the USA without using some imported parts. So made is the USA does not mean what it once did anyway.

Gee, how am I not surprised. :P I'm sorry but after the incompetent BS I had to deal with ordering a 2 x 10" cab from them, it wouldn't shock me they're closing shop. They didn't put the order in right when they were supposed to, shipped it to another state, and it took over a month to get here, after having to call back several times, one of them if I didn't call, they wouldn't have placed the order like they said they did. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, apparently. I should have just ordered a Fender cab from AMS and I would have gotten it within two days, with no stress, and would have cost the same.

Another thing, I've read a lot of reports (especially on their own forum,) and knew a few people that had issues with their amps failing over the years. Being that you could only order them or have to potentially send back anything to California, unlike Fender, Ampeg, or whatever that has stores and repair places all over the place, they never filled me with any sort of confidence in trying out their amps. Speaker cabs are no big deal, since you can get replacements anywhere for woofers or drivers. It's just I couldn't risk having an amp failure with potential gigs lined up, and wait up to a month, maybe more, shipping something back from the east coast to west coast of the US.

Carvin also makes a wireless system that will also take guitars. Aside from the other great options out there, has anyone experienced Carvin wireless for guitar?

TIA

Good help is hard to find. Bad help will kill a business. That's a reality in business.

Yah, that's true alright but it's not the help that's killing Carvin.

They don't have any stores.

That's what's killing them.
How do you get your product to market when you refuse to let the market see and touch and try your product?

I really don't care if they made a few good things or not.
They chose not to succeed so they will die, quietly and without any fanfare.
