For who YOU would like to see inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Yea, I know, it's a joke somewhat, but let's have a mock vote and see how close we get.

Who do YOU want to see get inducted into R&RHoF?

There are 20 nominees and the forum ballot limit is 15, so we can do it here in this
topic : (choose 5 and post)

Kate Bush
The Cars
The J Geils Band
Bon Jovi
Depeche Mode
The Eurythmics
Dire Straits
Judas Priest
LL Cool J
MC5
The Moody Blues
The Meters
Radiohead
Rage Against The Machine
Rufus (w/Chaka Khan)
Nina Simone
Link Wray
The Zombies
Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Even though I like most of the artists listed, I'd pick these:

The Cars
Dire Straits
The Moody Blues
Link Wray
The Zombies

I just realised, maybe you should have made (if possible) a poll post with all of the artists listed, so we could vote for the 5 we want and then it would be easier to tally all of the votes from anyone who participates in the thread.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I used to follow the charts and Rolling Stone for reference. The last issue of Rolling Stone for me was a 3D anniversary issue. That seemed a fitting way to end it, and to get my reviews elsewhere. YMMV.

Now that I know how entertainment is given monopolized partisan preference, politically and monetarily, not unlike payola or another uneven playing field position, it’s a “Play the game. Win the fame!” world. I’ve seen talent lost or ignored by not being on the beautiful people board, and then they were/are replaced by players with no talent (or where content outweighs substance) only to climb the charts and win dumbed down awards supported by that play with us credo. Pusher meets the junkie. I now make my choices far from the maddening crowd. 8)
The Eurythmics
The Moody Blues
Rufus (w/Chaka Khan)
The Zombies
Link Wray

I’ll admit RS is pretty good, and I miss the photos. It has the potential to be great as does the RRHOF. Sad that day will never come. :( Sometimes, you can judge a book by it’s cover.

As for the music . . . if you like it, you like it, and that’s good. Ears work better than eyes in that category. And that’s the truth.
:P

I know some who say that that R&RHoF has no credibility because Link Wray isn't in it.
Maybe this will be the time.

I didn’t know that, Mike. Thanks, for pointing it out. Makes sense to me as I have Link’s CD, and Rumble was one of the first electric songs that I learned as all the bands played it at high school dances.
Go Link!

I’ve never gotten over that Elvis never got accepted into the Grand Old Opry, especially based on his gospel which reeks of the Opry. He played there once, was rejected, and never went back. Just goes to show you’re either in the club or you’re not.

Looking at today’s country rock, I’m sure he would qualify, although he would turn it down.
As for Link getting into the RRHOF Stevie might be able to convince Paul Shaffer who has some pull:

We can only hope.
