I'm a lefty, so finding guitars to demo is always a challenge. Played a new 2017 American Professional Lefty in store and LOVED the new edition, but wanted a better color choice (the one I played was black and there are only 2 others available for lefties). Upon discovering the Mod Shop online, I decided to order my dream tele. Not only could I get a custom color (Ocean Turquoise), but I could also get the tele body with the belly-cut (which is being phased out), and all its ergonomic splendor. There were a few confusing aspects to the details of the custom choices available. The lack of choice of wood type was the first glaring thing. I realize the shop is supposed to be a modular assembly process utilizing pre-existing pieces in various combinations for customers. And I know they can't offer the Custom Shop choices for the price point they've created per guitar. But I know they make Ash left handed Butterscotch Tele bodies, so the blanks exist...and they have to paint every lefty made that isn't one of the 3 colors they offer thru mass production; so it's confounding that Alder is the ONLY option UNLESS I order the Butterscotch Blonde (which, minus the belly-cut I can already get). Putting that aside, I noticed that there were only 2 bridges available for the Tele. Both six saddle, modern/elite strat style bridges. I LOVE the vintage 3 compensated brass saddle tele bridge. AND I LOVED the new Am/Pro, double cut bridge. It's THE TELE bridge. The tone that I really wanted from my Tele. After calling customer service, several very pleasant people told me that it's just not available as an option from the Mod Shop(my favorite comment was, "it's NOT an option now, but probably will be in the future." Great, but I'm buying a guitar in the present). So, I thought I'd buy an after market brass saddle bridge and just mod my modshop guitar after it arrived. I then discovered that the new American Telecaster body is drilled with 4 mounting screws below the string holes (a more recent/modern configuration). Also discovered that most after market bridge companies DON'T offer lefty versions of this style bridge in that configuration (they offer lefty vintage, but I wasn't buying a 52 Reissue body style, so none will fit my new Tele). So, now I've contacted customer support one last time to ask/beg the mod shop manager to PLEASE put the AM/PRO bridge on my guitar before it leaves Corona. My only other option is STRAT-osphere Parts online, which has an Lefty AM/PRO loaded body I can buy and part out for the bridge, for another $600.00! Just for the genuine Tele Bridge. Did I mention how difficult being a lefty can be in guitar world ;-) Sorry for this long walk-thru. Has anyone else experienced the Mod Shop? Is there any flexibility? How was your Mod Shop experience and instrument after you got it? Again, I feel like I'm not asking for much more than a part that should be included as an option for the Telecaster. I've even offered to pay more for it if that's an issue. Anything less than $600 is a better deal than I'll be doing if I get bad or no news from Fender. Fingers crossed.

Welcome to the Forum kjneese. Cool first post. Your concerns are valid but resolveable. I don't work for Fender so my solutions don't count for much. I looked for a vintage Tele bridge on the accessories page but no left hand ones available. Things could change though. Stick around and have fun here.
