I thought you'd like to see what was very popular on both sides of the border prior to Rolling Stone and prior to the politics (as far as I remember). This magazine (photos omitted because of copyright including photogs) had ads, photos and articles about and by past and present groups, and more. What made it different is that it primarily acted as a song sheet with mostly current and some past songs! It was also 15 cents bi-weekly!

Maybe, it wasn't as slick or as big in size as RS, but Charlton Publications (who also published Hit Parader, mostly a Pop, magazine since the 30’s) made it cool because theirs could be smuggled into school or work. That made it easy to add a new song to one’s repertoire. A Country version was also available.

This ratty copy is a well used and abused volume 2 of October, 1966. A week or two of a year before Rolling Stone rolled out minus the lyrics. Now ya know.

As a fan of the Everlys, thanks for that info about their recording, mud. Their talent was not too shabby, huh?

I’m only sorry that their earlier breakup kept us from more enjoyment.

Neil was the one who lost out. He didn't get to meet the famous Marky from the Lizard forum.

If it makes you feel any better, he hails from this town here and comes back to visit. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law went to school with him, and I've never met Neil. But. I know this guy Marky. :P

Apparently, Nevin is Neil's friend.
