Joe Satriani is one busy guy. He's all over the recent issue of Guitar World magazine, in Ibanez and DiMarzio ads and news about his own fall tour (with special guests Mountain). There's also this interesting news

Quote:
Hagar has teamed with acclaimed guitarist Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith, and former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony. The group, code-named Chickenfoot, will enter the recording studio just before Labour Day.

So it sounds like a busy summer for Joe.

I have read alot about Chickenfoot...
Apparantly Joe & Sammy jammed on stage somewhere & the response was 'ELecTric'!
I think they ended writing some songs after that...
Joe is like my favorite artist soo... (also love vai)

The band sounds cool, and I think they could all groove well with their styles. Not sure that Sammy fits in though, very different. I like him, and he's actually a good guitar player (was at least), but just a different styles than the other cats. I'd be interested to hear that though.

Sammy's tequila company, Cabo Wabo, still makes some of the best tequila out there though.

This is sure to be a hit band. Sammy won't fail! His tequilla is aces, you are right hehe.

Joe's solos w/ Sammy's awesome voice will be so classic.

I hope their CD comes soon.

Cabo Wabo is overpriced rock-gut in my opinion. Its not smooth at all compared to other, better Tequilas such as El Patron or Tres Generations. Cabo Wabo tastes like that Mezcal crap you get in Tijuana that comes in a plastic bottle with the worm.

See, I always though Patron was overrated and overpriced. The Cabo Anejo is good stuff. Not as good as Don Filipe, Herradura or Porfidio, but good stuff.

Sauza's good, not great. Some mezcal is far better than most "tequila", since it's the same but not made in that specific region.

I got myself the VOX Satchurator pedal last year, it's pretty impressive. Can't wait to hear this Chickenfoot, cheers for posting this vid.

It will. Sammy has always been amazingly good as part of a band. Sammy's downfall as a solo artist was thinking he could write songs all by himself consistantly, and (even worse) be the lead guitar player. In all the bands he was with, he always had a very strong guitar player that could share songwriting duties and take over all lead guitar playing. All of which were great:

- Montrose (Ronnie M.)
- HSAS (N. Schon)
- Van Halen (the "Ed man")
