Yeah, I still get the screen darkening, but since I was able to block the rest of the popup, that's all I see, and I just click anywhere on the screen to get out of that. At least it's not as pervasive as it was originally.

I believe this started around July of last year. How many months (years??!) before it stops?

Can you make it pop up only for new people who are signing up? Make it pop on the new user registration page perhaps? All the regular forum members are now painfully aware of Fender Play.

I haven't noticed anything with this, lately. Maybe they changed it.

Weird. For me, the pop up stopped popping up for a couple of months.

But a few days ago it started popping up again. Everytime I open the forum.

So I hear there's this new thing called "Fender Play". Yeah I just got the 10,000th popup about it this afternoon and decided to read the popup this time. Turns out, it's a learning system for guitar. Now I'm buying it. Good thing you didn't turn it off last month, otherwise that would have been one less sale! You should just leave it as a popup on the site forever.

Perhaps reverse psychology will work?

It’s pretty wild, Mud. I’ve heard both at various intervals using the Net and TV.

This has to be one of the great mind games of all time. It certainly does gather a following.

I think I heard “Elvis”. Hahaha.

RE: Yanni vs Laurel

Try this:

Play the recording on some audio gear that has an EQ built in.
1. Turn the treble all the way down and turn the bass up. Play the recording.
2. Now turn the bass all the way down and turn the treble up. Play the recording.

Do you get a different result based on the EQ settings?

I believe "Yanni" probably lives on the treble side of the recording and "Laurel" lives in bass land. Thus what you hear would depend on 2 things:

1. The device that is playing the recording and how the EQ is on that device
2. What range of frequencies your ear is able to hear (different for different people due to hearing loss/age).

Disclaimer: I have not tried the above; it's just a theory.
